> Dec. 30. 2006:

> Dec. 24. 2006:

> What a great christmas present ! after more than a two years wait - the Steps live Anthology has finally been given the go-ahead and will go into production early in the new year, no release date has been confirmed as yet - but late Jan/early Feb is the most likely time frame. The CD has been assigned the catalogue No: Rialto SHDW 406.

> The Anthology has undergone some dramatic changes since it was originally muted, the time-inbetween has been used to get back into the studio to tie-up some loose ends -- the CD should be released in a deluxe gatefold card sleeve with insert booklet. It has been trimmed down from a double CD to a more focussed 18 track single disc. The set the will have a new title to reflect the new look, which a final decision is required.

> The album was remastered/engineered by acclaimed remaster engineer Andrew Sandoval, who's credits include remastering the following artists: The Beach Boys,The Monkees, The Band, Elvis Costello, Love, Beau Brummels. So perhaps the quality of the finished product is not suprising.

> The Anthology has been produced and researched by Russell Smith, who's credits extend to overseeing and researching the re-issue of the Kinks back catalogue [1964 thro' 1986]as well as supplying liner notes to the Kinks BBC Sessions 1964-1977 and the Marble Arch Years box set - as well as contributing to books on Jeff Beck and the Yardbirds.

> Once the release date has been confirmed - live dates will follow in support of the release of the CD.

> More news will be posted, when and as it becomes available

> Nov. 21. 2006:

> Here are a few comments taken from the Kinks Digest about the Convention:

>Henny Stahli wrote:We have to mention the nice performance of Peter Watkins. His "The Way Love Used To Be" was gorgeous. The Kast Off's were in damned good shape, as usual. All in all a perfect afternoon, accomplished by Ray showing up. A day to remember.

> Jean Blacow wrote: Pete Watkins did a good little set ( I got his C.D no Kinks stuff on it but a mix of rock and folk..enjoyable.)

> As can be judged by the above comments Peters performance at the 2004 Kinks convention was a huge success, despite some technical difficulties- here are some images. Ray Davies even interupted Peter performance to make annoucement [via mobile]to the convention !!

> Peter, Ray Davies [on mobile] and Bill Orton. Next two Peter in full flow - images courtesy of David Emlen and Beth Rees Evans - thanks guys.
